Long, thick, and twisty the Hangjiao #9 is one of the best from the 10 Hangjiao Space Peppers that were originally bred in China after sending seeds into orbit to expose them to radiation and promote mutations for larger fruit, more fruit, and higher vitamin concentrations. Thick walls, great crunch, and a good sweet flavor are followed by a decent little kick of spice that won't overwhlem but also won't go unnoticed! The sweetness reminds me a bit of cherries or cherry flavored candies. These peppers are great for pickling, stuffing, or just eating raw.
